Botox is one of the most commonly performed aesthetic treatments worldwide, used to reduce expression-line wrinkles and give the skin a fresher, more rested appearance. We've put together answers to the questions our patients ask us most often about Botox treatment.

1. How Does Botox Work?
Botox temporarily relaxes muscle activity, reducing the visibility of expression-related wrinkles (around the eyes, forehead, and between the brows). The treatment is applied to targeted muscle groups with a fine needle and typically takes 15–20 minutes.

2. When Do Results Start, and How Long Do They Last?
Initial effects are usually visible within 2–3 days, with full results appearing within 10–14 days. Results vary from person to person but typically last an average of 4–6 months.

3. Who Is a Good Candidate?
Anyone over 18 who is not pregnant or breastfeeding and has no specific neurological or muscular conditions may be considered a candidate for Botox. Final suitability is determined by your physician after an in-person consultation.

4. Is the Procedure Painful?
The needles used are very fine, and most patients describe the treatment as a mild pinching sensation. A topical numbing cream can be applied beforehand if desired.

5. What Should You Do After Treatment?
For the first 24 hours, avoid massaging the treated area, lying face-down, or engaging in intense physical activity. These simple precautions help ensure the treatment takes full effect in the intended area.
